It used to be owned by the Portugese until the 1970's when it gained independence. It is an independent country now made up of 9 islands and has little or no crime. OTIP |

As there are 9/10 islands, the situation is different on each one. However Sal, which is the island that we are promoting is developing well for tourism. It is fair to say however that the current situation is that there are insufficient restaurants and quality hotels to sustain a large increase of tourists. The choice and quality is generally quite low compared with other more developed tourist markets. We believe that this will improve considerably over the next 5 years or so as large branded hotel groups set up quality resorts. There are significant plans underway for golf courses, spa resorts, water parks, restaurants etc There is therefore a current opportunity to buy an apartment or villa at a reasonably low price, which should increase in value in line with the development of a better tourist infrastructure OTIP |
