Cape Verde, is attracting more tourists than ever, according to recently released government figures. Over the last quarter, the number of tourists visiting the islands off the west coast of Africa grew by 22% - and at that rate they will reach one million within 10 years, the National Statistics Institute figures revealed.

Direct flights every Thursday from London Gatwick and Manchester to the main island of Sal, which has some beautiful beaches, have just started through Astreaus Airlines, from £329 return. A new route from Dublin to Sal is planned from 21 December.
Among reasons for Cape Verde's growing popularity is its 350 days of sunshine and the fact that it is only five and a half hours away from the UK by plane.
Olive Tree International are offering an investment opportunity into an 800 room, up-market hotel and beach resort being built in Sal phase one will be completed in the next 3 years. This is a fantastic opportunity to invest in this ever increasing area, for as little as £16,000!
The development is in the south of the island and will be very similar to the RIU 5 Star Hotel that has been fully booked since opening last October.
This year, investment projects totalling US$300m have been approved in Cape Verde. Planned developments on Sal and Boa Vista, another main island, will take up 17% and 15% of the area. Up until recently, just 1% of land had been sold for development. Capital growth for property in 2006 is forecasted at 55%.
